I just found your blog and am really digging it!

I would love to have a second home to relax, especially with the cozy nook this one has.

The exterior is so beautiful. I love the white and gray cottage look. The inside decor is a little bit dark - I kinda wish it were more bright and airy. But you are right, the kitchen is very charming and utilitarian. That Franklin stove is so cute. I can imagine toasty hot chocolate, a great book and christmas presents...

I just hopped over here from Eddie's site. Dare I mention that I too have a Greek Revival house upstate - and it's for sale? Email if you want the specs - iloveupstate (at) gmail (dot) com.

Now, I'm going back to reading your blog! ;)

I don't live in New-York but in Montreal in Canada, a city big enough to 200% agree with what you say on the need to escape on week-ends to keep sanity ! We just bought an old country house we are about to fully renovate (see my blog!), and are sooooo happy to finally have a place we'll soon be able to relax (well, after the nightmare renos can be..) ! :-)
I love your blog,don't chnage a bit !

stinky well water, the previous owners added a top of the line water filtration system, but the water still smells like rotten eggs and sulphur...yucky!! The well is only 150 feet deep, all of the of the neighbors wells are dug at least 300 to 500 feet deep and their water does not smell. So my question is this, can we just have someone dig the exisitng well deeper, or do we have to have a new well dug? thanks
