The color scheme and fabrics in #9 are so sophisticated. I flipped for that room when I first saw it. But with your grey walls, I think picture #1 is the most soothing and livable scheme. The color in the lamps and curtains provides just enough interest without being too jarring. And if you got tired of the orange pillows, that would be easy to change. Lana

yikes! you have to post before & after's of your room!

Dianna--I would have died if all my data was gone forever! Thank god for the geek squad! I really like #8 as well. The colors make the room feel cheerful & lively.

Lana--# 1 is my favorite. I'm kind of obsessing over those lamps. And since I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to using color I really like the idea of incorporating color with pieces that can be easily changed...like the pillows and/or lamps.

acaligurl-maybe i will! i'm sure it will be a work in progress though so it might be a while before i post photos!

I love white bedding too, it makes a room feel so cool and pure. I saw some Pratesi sheets recently that were beyond classic and elegant. Italian designer bedding is so luxurious, it makes you feel like royalty. The site where I saw them is www.ElegantLinensPC.com/Pratesi.htm. These are what I want in my stocking next Christmas....

Oh my gosh you poor thing!! That's my worst nightmare come true! BUT, it sounds like you are making the best of the situation and I'm excited for you to redecorate! Thank you for posting so many gorgeous bedrooms! I'm having a custom headboard made for my company (I own a small upholstery fabric company) and I've been digging through old tear sheets for ideas and inspiration so this post has been really helpful :)

Michelle--Glad you enjoyed the post! I know you're in New York too, right? I would LOVE to know how your headboard turns out...I need a recommendation on a good upholsterer in or near the city to do mine! Keep me posted!

Loved all of these bedroom pics... I am currently in the process of doing ours and it is has been a little slow-going, but this post was great inspiration! We just picked and started painting our walls grey, as well, but I think ours is a tad warmer than the one you went with. I remembered seeing the RL cool grey, though, and it was very pretty. I love grey with a pale sagey green (the color of our bedding), dark espresso (our furniture), crisp white crown molding, and bright teal accents. Hopefully I'll be posting some after shots of our room soon!

Hi Jessie! My process is slow going too! Don't you just wish you could do everything at once and get it over with? The color combo you describe sounds amazing. Can't wait to see photos of the finished product!
